What is love?

Brené Brown, author of Atlas of the Heart (a book we are obsessed with), defines love as:

We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be deeply seen and known, and when we honor the spiritual connection that grows from that offering with trust, respect, kindness, and affection.

Love is not something we give or get; it is something that we nurture and grow, a connection that can be cultivated between two people only when it exists within each one of them—we can love others only as much as we love ourselves.

In this episode, Dr. Jackie Black shares how couples can cultivate love and sustain it not only in this month of love but in each and every day of their lives. Dr. Jackie aims for couples to live every day like they are on their honeymoon, embracing and solidifying couplehood as a result.

She also focuses on the importance of connection – knowing how to connect and stay connected, which she believes most couples don’t know is the key to a long-lasting relationship. She gives tips on how to master this art of connection, mainly through being openhearted and vulnerable.
