What if love… isn’t enough?
In this powerful and deeply personal WHEN Stories™ talk, parent coach and speaker Merri Guggisberg shares her journey from quietly wondering where she belonged… to helping parents create deeper, more meaningful connection with their children.
As an adopted child growing up in a loving home, Merri had everything she needed — and still felt different.
Years later, as a parent herself, she realized something that changed everything.
Merri Guggisberg is a Parent Coach, Speaker, and Family Connection Advocate who supports parents, caregivers, and educators in building stronger, more meaningful relationships with the children in their lives. Through her work with MKG Parent Coach, Merri helps families bring Mindfulness, Kindness, and Gratitude into everyday moments, especially in the moments that can strain connection.
Drawing from both her personal experiences and her work with families, Merri helps parents move away from pressure and proving and toward presence, understanding, and connection. She is known for her warm, relatable approach and her ability to create space for parents to slow down, reflect, and respond with intention. Her work resonates with families from all backgrounds and reminds us that even in loving homes, children can still quietly wonder where they fit.
Merri is a sought-after speaker for conferences, education settings, and faith-based communities, where she shares practical, meaningful ways to strengthen connection within families. Whether speaking in person or virtually, she creates an environment where parents feel seen, supported, and encouraged as they navigate raising children in today’s world.
Merri is the creator of the PAUSE process, a practical and meaningful way for parents to become more fully available, grounded, and intentional in how they show up with their children. Through the PAUSE process, she guides families to be present, attentive, and understanding, while building support systems and exploring solutions together in ways that work for their unique family.
At the heart of Merri’s work is a deep belief that children don’t just need love. They need to feel seen, understood, and secure in who they are. When families create that kind of environment, both parents and children are able to grow, connect, and thrive.
