What if healing after loss isn't about moving on... but learning how to carry love forward into a completely new life?

In this heartfelt episode of the WHEN Stories Radio Network, Wendy Babcock sits down with Dr. Kamela "Kami" Harmon to discuss the deeply personal story behind her keynote, Reincarnation After Loss.

A Doctor of Education specializing in Ethical Leadership and a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with nearly three decades of experience in emergency medicine and trauma care, Dr. Harmon spent her career helping others through the worst days of their lives.

Nothing prepared her for becoming a widow herself.

After losing her husband and soulmate, Clark, Kami found herself consumed by grief, anxiety, guilt, and overwhelming sadness. But through journaling, counseling, movement, healthy living, and intentional daily choices, she slowly rebuilt a life that honored both her love for Clark and her own future.

In this conversation, Wendy and Kami explore what healthy grieving actually looks like, why healing doesn't mean forgetting, how guilt can complicate loss, and why telling difficult stories has the power to change lives.

Whether you've lost a spouse, parent, sibling, friend, career, relationship, or another meaningful part of your life, this episode offers hope that while life may never be the same, it can still become beautiful again.

In this episode you'll discover:

• Why grief is deeply personal—and why there is no "right" timeline for healing

• How journaling, counseling, movement, and intentional habits became part of Kami's healing journey

• The emotional weight of survivor's guilt and learning to let go of self-blame

• What decades in emergency medicine taught her about life, loss, and resilience

• Why healing isn't about moving on—it's about moving forward with love

• How sharing vulnerable stories helps others feel less alone

• The surprising emotional release that came from telling her WHEN Stories keynote

• Why your greatest heartbreak may become your greatest opportunity to serve others

Memorable Moments

"Life is meant to be lived. My life is meant to be a story worth telling."

"Healing doesn't erase grief. It gives you better tools to carry it."

"I helped patients one at a time. Now my story allows me to help many."
