I do really appreciate the rapport of these old friends, and it’s great to hear their candid discoveries and nostalgic look at shared experience. However, any of the ‘softball’ setups for Britt to ask questions are both unnecessary and annoying. Perhaps they are sincere off-the-cuff questions from Britt…but they feel very wooden and infantilizing to the listeners.

Other reviewers have also commented on the overuse of “like” as well other cringeworthy conversational word choices that reads more like vacuous late teen school bus gossip instead of well researched crime journalism.

While these superficial flaws never upend the show completely, they occur frequently enough to bring pause when deciding which true crime to choose—among the oodles of podcasts.
