Goosebumps!
This was an incredible story of family, friendship and forgiveness. So many layers to this story and it brought me to tears and gave me goosebumps. So well done. Kudos to those involved with this production!
The Most Beautiful and Painful Stories Intertwined
I don’t know where to start. I listen to podcasts a minimum of 20 hrs a week. I don’t know how I found this one but I am so glad that I did. This was the most beautiful and compassionately produced and hosted podcast I’ve ever listened to. It will stay with me. I will think about the tragedies the pain the beauty the grace the hope forever. The stories intertwining and bringing feelings, perspectives, and emotions to the listener that are so raw and so human is what makes it so special. Mr. King has so much respect from me for his compassion, empathy, and humility. I am sure as he investigated and told this story it was hard to process all of the feelings and twists and turns. It seems you’ve changed the people directly affected by this tragedy into something better off than they were. I hope you can allow yourself to appreciate that. It’s an incredible gift you have. It took decades and it took you. As I sit here and write this it all comes down to this, each one of the people you spoke with wanted to be heard and seen. That’s what you gave them. That’s all most people want. I thank you for this experience.
Season 2 is outstanding
I don’t know how I made it through the end. I have cried the entire episode. Your show gives us all the tools to use to see the humanity in others. People can change. There is goodness in most everyone if we search, and they are given the tools to show it. Thank you for given Jeremy a voice. But the relationship between Mary and Jeremy is wonderful- I loved listening. Thank you!
You gave him his life back
An angel on earth. Best investigation ever.
The best
If I could give this podcast 100 stars I would. The first season was exceptional and the second is even better. I recommend it to everyone I talk to. This is such an important story told in such an empathetic way.
Incredible
This podcast shows that there’s no tool more powerful than that of human connection. Amazing story telling.
Heart breaking and compelling
I listen to a lot of of true crime podcasts. This podcast was so well done and the story is so compelling. It truly digs into the depth of human beings and how complex we are. This is a must listen.
5 stars all the way around!
today, i finished the last episode of this podcast while crying my eyes out. i got very attached to all these characters along the way and by the end, i wanted us all to be friends in real life. the people reminded me of ones i have met in really well written fictional novels, fleshed-out folks, bordering somewhere on a spectrum between good and bad, both heroes and failures simultaneously. by the time the story wrapped up, i was left wandering where these characters would go next. in essence, i closed the pages, but i continued to think about these people and wish them well. thank you, mr. king, for doing such glorious justice with this podcast when justice was so very lacking in the original story. ⭐️
Love this podcast
I am loving this podcast. This podcast is such an emotional rollercoaster. So good.
Just Amazing!
This is by far the best podcast I’ve listened to. The writing is exceptional and keeps me hooked. Keep putting out.
The best podcast
Wow… so I’ve already left a review, but I’m retyping after listening to Chapter 6 of Jeremy’s story and I’m crying. Leo’s story has stuck with me ever since I first listened to it. I watch for updates and am always moved to tears whether it be of joy or sadness. Every single episode of Jeremy’s story so far has given me chills! The most recent episode moved me to tears of awe and wonder. Hearing Leo speak to Jeremy and expressing his forgiveness and gratefulness for the truth. His encouraging words to Jeremy truly amaze me! The connection Jeremy now has with his son also brought me to tears! Really just such an incredibly moving story on all sides. Gilbert King and Kelsey are both amazing narrators. If you haven’t already, go listen!!!
Great podcast
Riveting story. I can’t even explain how much empathy I felt for a cold blooded killer. This was one of the best podcasts I have ever listened to.
Wow incredible
The first season of this podcast was very well done, but somehow the second season was even better. The humanization of Jeremy and his redemption is a truly beautiful story. It’s amazing that in such a horrible situation forgiveness and grace ultimately prevails. Leo’s prayers for Jeremy are working.
The best of the best.
Incredible investigating and storytelling. I started listening for the true crime narrative, and I’ve stayed because Gilbert and team capture the complexity of the human experience in every episode.
Depth
This is an outstanding podcast, coming from someone who listens to a LOT of podcasts.
Great Podcast
This is by far one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to and I’ve listened to a bunch of them. Gilbert and Kelsey show such compassion to everyone involved. They are beautiful people! I’m so glad Leo is finally out and enjoying his family! He is a beautiful soul!!! Victoria Avalon should be ashamed of herself! She did the justice system a disservice!Looking for more from Gilbert and Kelsey!
Hands down the best podcast out there!
I can’t even put into words what a beautiful and captivating podcast this is! It’s just phenomenal. From Gilbert’s & his teams work to get Leo out of jail and now hearing Jeremy and his son’s story of reconnecting. I have shed tears of joy and sorrow many times. If I could only recommend one podcast for the rest of my life, it would be this one!
Absolute MUST LISTEN
I listen to a good deal of true crime podcasts, both short single episode stories and long form like this one and I don’t think I’ve ever heard one that moved me emotionally the way this one has. It sounds like there are many people who’ve been pulled in and emotionally invested in this story just as I have. And it may be even more so now with the second season. Listen! It’s WORTH IT.
I’d give this podcast 10 stars
How does this podcast just keep getting better? Gilbert King, you are an incredible writer and human being. Thank you for sharing this story with us.
Full Circle
Once in while a rare incredible individuals (Mr. King, Leo,etc) can bring together people one by one out of the most traumatic and unusual circumstances. The past can’t be changed however the future is yet to be written. While some souls may be too far gone, it’s exciting to see “the good parts” of a soul who still yearn to have their human needs met. And the rest we pour out to God to “lead us, guide us,walk beside us, and help us find the way”. In the end he’ll make things right.
Bone Valley
Murder, lies, conspiracy, redemption, love & forgiveness. This is one of the most powerful and devastatingly beautiful stories. I can't find the words for it all. There's so much in these 2 seasons all wrapped up in so many emotions. I have cried so many tears from the sheer rawness of it all. But, the redemption...The love...The forgiveness...it's breathtaking. Some of it will anger and infuriate you, frustrate you and stress you out. And some will make you weep. But, in the end, you're given the gift of knowing what grace truly means.
Amazing
I didn’t start Season 2 right away assuming it couldn’t be as compelling as Season 1. But here I am feeling empathy and rooting for Jeremy. The killer. The reason Leo was in prison. This is so well done.
Positively Outstanding!!!!!
This is quite possibly the BEST podcast I’ve listened to and I have listened to A LOT of them!! If you’re looking for something to binge, this is perfect. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Overwhelming
This podcast had me so emotionally involved. I felt the emotions. I hurt listening to the courts deny an innocent man. It breaks my heart the judicial system failed in doing their job. It’s so I fail to hear how long Leo spent in jail. It should have been that way. But then I hear how positive he was and is and how he kept pushing forward. I’m sure he had some awful days but the fact that he had hope and just purposed in his heart to Love Jesus and continue to be the best he could be amazed me! On the last episode when he got to the Noah house and the lady said “Look at God” I got tears in my eyes and chills went all over me. I could feel the spirit and I know from the recording everyone else in that moment did too! Thank you so much for producing this podcast. I do pray and look forward to the day that Leo is exonerated!! 🙌🏼
