Brought me to tears

Just finished episode 9 and the last 15 mins made me ball my eyes out. I feel emotionally connected with you guys and pray Leo gets to breathe freedom soon. Amazing show. Thank you guys!

So well written. So much corruption in the Florida Judicial System, it is absolutely mind boggling. What a joke of a system. Prayers for Leo’s freedom.

I hate that I love this podcast so much because of the reason this podcast is even here. The bonus episode brought me to tears. The fact that this judge is stepping down to defend Leo is such an amazing gesture! What a gift and what this says is so powerful. My thoughts are with you all and may justice prevail and Leo be freed. You do amazing work!!

A masterpiece

I have listened to dozens of podcasts over the years, and this one is hands down required listening. It’s a turns heartbreaking, hopeful, devastating, frustrating, and insightful. There’s no way I could capture the intensity and beauty of this work in a paragraph, so I will just simply encourage you to listen.

A must listen

If you’re going to listen to any podcast - this should be the one. It is heartbreaking. Telling Leo’s truths demonstrates the good and the power that can come from a podcast. I hope Leo is soon released, like Asnan Syed, who’s story was told in Serial. The prosecutors involved in Leo’s case should all be behind bars. I don’t know how these people live with themselves.

Highly, highly recommend

I listen to a lot of podcasts. And wow, this might just be the best one I’ve ever listened to. This is a story that so badly needs to be heard, and I think Gilbert and Kelsey really did it justice. Also had me crying at the end when I realized the theme music was Leo’s own song the whole time 😭. I could not recommend this podcast more - in fact I’m telling everyone I know! We need to spread the word - Leo needs to be exhonerated!

Unbelievable

Episode by episode I was pulled into this heartbreaking yet beautiful story. Leo has taken what the Devil meant for evil, and turned it into good. He has undoubtedly saved the lives of other men. You two have saved the life of an innocent man by telling his story and the truth. He may not be free yet, but you saved his life and I believe he will be free one day.

This story has so many twists and turns. It’s an unbelievable web … and you’ve done an amazing job untangling it all and retelling the story. I was completely memorized by this story. Job well done

Great story, a few editing mistakes

This is a really well told story, much better than most. Only complaint was that there were more than one editing mistakes where it skips ahead or backwards. Probably should fix those.

Great story telling, though such a heart breaking story. So glad the truth was told, but I don’t understand the injustice! So maddening. By the last episode I was bawling. Thank you for being a voice for Leo and telling the true story. I can only pray for a miracle.

Can’t stop listening

One of the best investigative podcasts I’ve listened to since Serial. Excellent reporting and Gilbert has a great voice and verbiage. The story is shocking and I will continue to follow for any updates as well as share with everyone!

Beautifully Haunting

STOP AND LISTEN. I’ve listened to hundreds of podcasts and none come close to the beautifully haunting, and dare I say, at times, poetic way in which this heartbreaking story is told. The last 5 minutes of the last episode is like a requiem for what could have been. Amazing. And Gilbert does it all in a way with such respect and thorough investigation for all included. I found myself amazed that in the same moment my heart could ache so deeply for a professed murderer as well as the wrongfully accused and his family. Well done.

Incredible

This story brought me to tears on several different occasions. The injustice that has taken place and continues to take place in Florida is disturbing. From the minute you listen to Gilbert tell the facts in the first episode it is obvious that Leo couldn’t have killed his wife. Florida should be ashamed, embarrassed and those who have continued this injustice should be held responsible.
