Welcome to another episode of Bent Not Broken. Heartbreak and trauma may feel like the end of your story, but here it's the beginning of a bold new chapter. I'm your host, Coach Deborah Griffiths, and this is the space where women rise, rebuild, and rediscover their purpose. Remember this truth. You are Bent Not Broken. Welcome back to Bent Not Broken. I'm Coach Deborah, and this is your bonus coaching episode, a space for healing, reflection, and truth telling. In my recent conversation with counselor and author Sonia Krishna Chan, we talked about what it really means to allow yourself to feel and to remember that your self-worth never left you. Today I want to expand on that, to talk about why it's so important to feel your pain and how to process it so that you can move forward. The first question to ask yourself is why must I feel the pain? Remember, pain isn't punishment, it's information. It's your body and soul's way of saying something needs your attention. When we avoid pain by staying busy, numbing it, or pretending that everything's fine, we don't erase it. We simply bury it. And buried pain doesn't disappear, it waits. It shows up later as anxiety, bitterness, or even emotional exhaustion. Feeling your pain allows you to release it instead of reliving it. It opens the door for transformation because you can't heal what you refuse to feel. So when grief, anger, or loneliness shows up, pause. Take a breath and say, I see you. I'm listening. Because that simple act of acknowledgement begins the healing. Now, how do you process pain so that you can move forward? Processing pain doesn't mean you're drowning in it, it means you're moving through it consciously. So here's a few steps to help you do just that. Name it. Say out loud what you're feeling. I'm angry, I'm hurt, I feel lost. Naming gives the emotion less power. Feel it physically. Notice where it lives in your body, your chest, your stomach, your shoulders, and breathe into that space. Write it out. Journaling turns confusion into clarity. Let the words pour out without judgment. Lastly, release it safely. Cry, pray, move your body, or talk to a trusted friend, a therapist, or a coach. Pain that's expressed can finally begin to leave. Processing pain doesn't happen overnight, but each time you face it, instead of fleeing from it, you take back a piece of your power. And remember, your self-worth never left you. Here's the truth: your worth is not tied to your past, your relationship, or your pain. You were worthy before the heartbreak, and you're worthy now. Pain might have clouded your vision, but it didn't erase your light. When you started to heal, you don't become someone new. You simply remember who you've always been. If you're listening right now, I want you to repeat after me. My pain does not define me. My worth never left me. I am healing. I am enough. Say it until it feels true, because it is. Feeling your pain doesn't make you weak, it makes you wise. It's through the cracks of our brokenness that light enters and growth begins. So give yourself permission to feel, to process, and to rise, because you're not broken, you're bent, and you're becoming beautifully strong in this process. If this message touched your heart, share it with someone who needs a reminder that healing begins when we feel, not when we hide. And remember, your self-worth has been with you all along. Until next time, I'm Coach Deborah. Keep rising, keep healing, and keep believing in your worth. Thank you for listening to today's episode of Bent Not Broken. I hope that this episode reminded you that even through life's toughest moments, you are bent, not broken.
