This podcast would not be what it is without you! Please don’t ever stop!💖 Update: 🤯 I need to stay out of the review section. I’m mind blown at the sexism in these reviews. People suggesting Rob replace Monica?!?! I love Rob, but that’s the last thing we need is 2 males never challenging each other. The dynamic of Monica and Dax is what adds so much to the podcast, the contrast in personalities, beliefs, the way they grew up, sex, fame, their day 2 day, one being a single, successful, female and the other being a married, successful, father. It’s crazy that anyone could ever say she’s not good at her job after all of her experience and the success of the podcast. Put away your microscope you have aimed at Monica and enjoy the podcast because it’s good!

I don’t write reviews but feel the need to reading some other reviews from other “day 1” listeners. The show has not changed for the worse but for the better. Dax’s interviewing skills keep evolving and an armchair interview is going to elicit more from a guest than on other podcasts. Other shows are rote (perfectly fine) and don’t go off on fun tangents with their guests or get the playfulness that Dax and Monica tease out of them. I will continue to listen on any platform they go to.

I’ve been listening to the Armchair Expert podcasts since a friend sent me the excellent Maureen Dunne episode about her book, “The Neurodiversity Edge.” I’ve listened to every Maureen Dunne interview and Dax and Monica handled neurodivergence with curiosity and openness in getting the word out about a topic that is personal for me. Also, in the podcast interview with Alegra Kastens about OCD, Dax and Monica acknowledged they needed to speak to an expert after being under informed on the topic. I felt seen and educated in both episodes and want to offer my support for Monica and Dax for their advocacy and excellent podcast interviews. Highly recommended.

Dax thank you for being so respectful of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I’m Mormon, LOVE your show and have learned so much from you and Monica. It’s always interesting to hear the information shared about the church from former members or people that are somehow adjacent to the church. Everyone has their own unique experiences and take-aways from the Mormon church but I think you’ll find that the majority of Mormons are just normal people that are doing their best to be good and kind people. I so appreciate the respect you show the church. You guys are so fun and seem to be genuinely kind and thoughtful. Thanks for all you do!

I love listening to the podcast- whether interviews w celebrities or academics, it doesn’t matter. They build such a kind and supportive rapport w guests. I love the fact check- listening to banter between Monica and Dax. I’d like to be their friend. With that said, if I ever saw them on the streets of LA, I’d run the other way. :)

Ok weighing in as a parent of 3 kiddos (now 22 and twin 16 year olds) I HATED pretend playing when they were little but I went with things I truly enjoyed doing with them and left them to play on their own or with their friends. I loved taking them to the zoo, shopping (yes they all learned to shop with me!), picnics at the park with their friends and moms who I loved being around, boating and going to the beach. Honestly I think it fosters independence and creative play when kids are left on their own for periods of time to be bored and figure out what to do on their own!

Me and my family were in the car to Canada when I started listening to stalking armchair anonymous. I am mediately fell in love thank you for making amazing podcasts that are full of laughing and fun!

It’s a good podcast. Monica is not a add on to the show who can be got rid of, they started it together. Stop complaining and either listen or don’t. This is Monica's and Dax’s show and none of yours. Just enjoy it.

Hey Ladies, I enjoyed your candid and vulnerable convo on this episode. However, I did have a problem with your advice to Sharif regarding her dilemma with her hairdresser of eight years. You felt it was up to Sharif’s friends to make this right, but I see it as Sharif’s problem to fix. (It’s completely unfair to put both of her friends in the awkward position of telling the hairdresser he’s mispronounced her name for ALL those years. lol!) Sharif’s error in judgment was in letting the first mispronunciation slide. I think this is a female acculturation issue. It is her NAME — instead of taking a few seconds to educate the hairdresser, she didn’t think it was important enough to address. Even if she anticipated not returning, it’s appropriate to be called your correct name even in that one interaction. My suggestion on how to set it straight: Sharif to the hairdresser: “I have something I’m embarrassed to share with you. And I want to apologize in advance. When we first met, I didn’t take the time to tell you how my name is pronounced. So many people get it wrong, but that’s no excuse. It’s actually pronounced Sharif, and I figured now that we’ve known each other 8 years, I should probably share that.” This honest approach hopefully prevents the hairdresser from feeling super embarrassed. My favorite Dax-ism is how he says “really quick” before 50% of his thoughts/questions during interviews. So really quick I just want to say how much I love this podcast and I love you Monica!! Anyone that doesn’t is just jealous they don’t have your amazing job and life!

It is so annoying when the Same celebrity in in two podcast the same day 😡😑😵‍💫 E.g. Jack black is on Connan and in armchair. This is the second time this happens. It is extremely frustrating.

My daughter and I love listening to Dax and MONICA! We are Mighty Mice ourselves, and appreciate her so much. Keep up the great work. I loved the older Ed Sheeran episode.

I love every episode. The synergy between Dax and Monica is wonderful. The guests are always 🤌🏻 And, the fact check is the time when I feel we really get to know Monica and Dax. Their varying life experiences have helped me to be more mindful of my own “deal.” Love them! I’m forever a faithful ArmCherry and would be over the moon to speak to them one day.

The fact I can sit back in my recliner with my headphones on and be transported to another place is a rarity. Thanks for making me forget where I am and what I’m supposed to be doing. The bit of show I catch in between my snores, always makes me laugh.

I’ve been waiting for a Armchair Anonymous to maybe be able to share this but i’ve waited to long at this point. Dax and monica both changed my life. I was 370 pounds and didn’t know how to get better. Listening to this podcast and listening to other people struggles made me feel like i wasn’t alone. Dax and Monica were there with me every step of the way as i worked to shed the pounds and fix my life. Dax was so open about his struggles, though different from my own i found solace that he was able to change his story i knew i could change mine too. I’m now down to 260 (and still working to get the rest off) i just had to say thank you to Dax and Monica because they saved my life and helped me to become a better person. I also named my son after Dax, he really made a big impact on me. So thank you Dax and Monica, and if you are thinking of you should listen to this podcast it’s a resounding, YES!

Just discovered this podcast but on my iPhone podcast app it doesn’t play older episodes

I have been an Avett fan since 2011 and was thrilled you had them back on. The first Armchair I listened to was their first interview and I have been hooked on all iterations of this show and am a bonafide armcherry. Monica and I are spirit animals, I’m convinced. I’d love to know what your favorite Avett songs are; mine is If it’s the Beaches. Thank you for doing what you do and keeping us not only entertained but laughing and learning along the way.

Love this podcast so much. The interviews are fantastic. Love the experts especially. My book collection has grown significantly from listening! Dax being so open about his journey through sobriety has changed my life. And what is up with some of these reviews? After years and years and so many episodes - you can’t expect to agree with every word that comes out of someone’s mouth. When did we get so intolerant of other humans? And, isn’t embracing our humanity part of what the whole show is about? Keep up the amazing work AE!
