Thank you for the podcast
I enjoy the poscast. Whoever the woman was at the end of the Chelsea Handler podcast needs to not be on the podcast, ever. She's horrid and EXACTLY what we dislike about Hollywood.
What’s happening to the post interview part of the show?
This is a wonderful interview show thoughtful research, in-depth questions and topics we can sink our teeth into. Monica is intelligent and lovely and provides great insight for the show. I believe she is a good balance for Dax and often bring up topics that are otherwise glossed over. However, the post interview part of the show has become harder and harder to listen to. It used to be full of fact checks and commentary on the topic at hand. But it seems to be more about trivial aspects of Monica’s life that serve no other purpose to the conversation.
Good show
Does James Marsden address the letter he wrote to the judge supporting his best friend Brian Peck during the Drake Bell molestation trial? Funny how we continue to let James support pedos and nobody ever calls him out
moni padi.
i listen to/watch this show regardless of who the guest is just to hear and see monica. her voice is beautiful and she’s beautiful and smart and i just love her.
Never miss the Christmas show!
I catch the podcast occasionally. The Christmas show always. Wow, what wonderful singing. Sitting around a piano like the olden days. Beautiful!
Wondery is destroying Armchair
There are an INSANE amount of ads to the point where I feel like i’m just skipping ads instead of listening to the podcast.
Updated review…
I instantly wasn’t a fan of Monica. The first episode she was arguing with Dax. Telling him his feelings weren’t valid. Then, she spoke over the guests. Dax always waits til the other person is done talking. She doesn’t. Often answering for them. I Keep listening… Only due to how much I love Dax! He was built for this! I can tell he cares for Monica. I wish she could complete the end of the episodes!? The fact checking. That would be awesome. She isn’t bringing much to the party when the guests are there. She isn’t as insightful, she is saying things that Dax has to correct, she is talking over people and sometimes at people. Just too many people talking as well. Sometimes I have to turn it off. HOWEVER, I love love love this show. I have become an Armcherry! I love Dax! Keep spreading love and positivity. Dax thank you for sharing your personal trauma. It’s hit home for me and my husband. We appreciate you more than I can type! I’m sorry we are struggling with Monica, I feel bad to say anything. I am sure you love her and these comments are hard, but it’s not good for the show… Food for thought.
Fav Podcast
Monica and Dax are the best! I love listening to their interviews every week. Thought provoking and entertaining conversations.
What’s going on with the fact checks?
Why is the chit chat portion of the fact check repeated??? They do have the facts about each guest after the chit chat portion. I’m a wondery plus subscriber if that makes a difference. Anyone else noticed this. The chit chat portion of the fact checks is actually my favorite part. Love the show!!!
Part of my daily routine!
I have become a huge fan of podcasts but I have definitely not loved all of them that I have tried. This is a total exception!!! I absolutely love this podcast! Dax and Monica are entertaining, insightful, honest and real. It’s a podcast that digs deep into our favorite celebrities and experts but it also can help you realize things about yourself that you maybe didn’t realize. It’s seriously funny and informative, as well! I’m a fan for life!
My favorite podcast!
This is by far my favorite podcast!!! Thank you for the work you and your team do!!!!
Insightful and Hilarious
Of all of the podcasts I’ve phased in and out of listening to, this one has remained a constant. I think it’s so important to be insightful about where yourself and others come from and how that impacts your walk through life. Dax and Monica do a great job of relaying their and their guest’s humanity and I just love love love this show. I’ve learned so much.
I am not alone
I have found myself with some of your guests and you. You are a fantastic interviewer! Tyler Perry’s interview was so vulnerable and honest. We need to Dax to be in this space.
Hey “GALS”!
I’m listening to Tyler Perry right now and I am loving it! I’m excited to watch some of these movies you’re talking about. Regarding the word “GAL”. I am a pasty white woman in her 50s and I totally understand what Tyler is saying about how the slang, “Gal” is offensive, especially in the context he explained. I have never liked being called Gal because I’m not a girl, a woman, and when a man calls me Gal, I feel like he’s trying to infantilize me as a woman. (It feels the same as if he were to pat me on the head and say, calm down little lady.) I’m not even a hard-core feminist, but that word has always felt disrespectful. Dax, I’m sure you meant nothing by it and I loved how Tyler was so kind to help you learn something new. We don’t know what we don’t know. Keep up the good work! I love that I finally found this podcast.
Monica Lewinsky
Thank you for rereleasing the Monica Lewinsky interview as I did not hear it the first time. Such an interesting and insightful conversation. Online bullying affects so many, in which we need more people speaking out and trying to make positive improvements.
Great Podcast!!
I’ve been a long time listener. I love Dax and Monica. What a dynamic duo they are. The rerelease of Dax’s episode with his mom was so incredibly inspiring and touching. Keep up the great work!
Team Monica
I found this podcast through Flightless Bird, which Monica also co-hosts. Y’all stop hating on her in the reviews- she’s delightful. She’s also the voice twin of Lucy from Wine and Crime podcast (another of my favorites). Really enjoyed the musical Christmas episode!
Don’t Understand All Of The Negativity
Dax AND Monica are great (why so much hate on Monica? I think she’s hilarious). This podcast gets me through boredom, my commute to work, and even bad moods! I started listening from the 2024 backwards and after going through the whole catalog, I can say the show is only getting better. To Dax and Monica (and Wobby): please ignore the haters. Folks can have their opinions. What you do matters and makes a difference.
Holiday episode 🎄✨
What a delightful and joyful episode. I really enjoyed and needed this. Thank you all and happy holidays to each of you.
Enough of Monica
I love this podcast. I really do. But Monica… oh boy. It’s so enjoyable when she’s silent. She’s arrogant, ostentatious, fake, self-absorbed, and completely out of touch with reality. And the fake laugh! Dear God, please make it stop! Here’s a news flash, Monica- WE ARE NOT LISTENING FOR YOU. We are here for Dax, the experts, the celebs, Woby Wob, the anonymous… literally everyone but you. Just stop, babes. Let the grown-ups talk.
Huge Contrast
It’s my first listen, and the stark contrast between the deep, insightful, inspiring conversation with Fei Fei Li to apparently saving back hair and leg hair for future mittens was unexpected. Well, let’s see what other mildly disturbing info comes up! I’m along for the ride, I love learning things AND feeling comparatively normal!
Very real, incredibly insightful on the human experience
I took a long pause with podcasts as I was chomping my way through many audiobooks. Thank gosh episodes are saved. Listen to laugh, listen to learn. One of the most refreshing podcasts I have recently come across….
Such a great and sometimes raw conversation
I am so grateful to Dax Shepard for this show. I am grateful to him for opening up, for being honest, for sharing with all of us and exploring with his guests. And to his fabulous partner, editor, and often co-host. You have discussed together and with guests, particularly the recent (Nov 2024) interview with Anna Kendrick, relevant and important topics. Thank you to her as well. I felt a part of a conversation with friends, my turn to listen and absorb.
Not listening anymore
Monica is too fragile when it comes to politics. I’m done. Really enjoyed the show and Dax you’re awesome. Let’s go riding bikes sometime. Matt
