Good but room for improvement
I really enjoy the armchair expert interviews but am confused by how many other spin off episodes I have to scroll through just to find the armchair expert ones? What are these other shows??! Wish they were separate and I would listen much more. I only do when I have the energy to scroll, scroll, scroll to find previous interviews.
Big fan
Big fan. Dax and Monica are easy to listen to and I look forward to new episodes. Armchair Anonymous is my fave. I wish we could delete the comments FILLED with hate. Some wounded people are just unoriginally cruel.
Thank you!
My friend has been talking abt the show for a while and I hadn’t gotten around to listening until she sent me the Billie Joe episode. I didn’t know a bigger BJA/Green Day existed until I heard Dax spitting random facts with pure enthusiastic fan joy and I am here for it. Great interview, great hosts.
Yearbook is life changing!!
I love AE and have been obsessed with Chad sanders since his interview. The deep dive in yearbook is a refreshing change of pace that reckons the past with the present. I love the concept and it’s execution!! More yearbook stories please!! 🙏🏽
Second chances…?
As a listener since the beginning and a cheerleader for Dax, Monica and David, I love the content they create and the platforms they developed over the years. By being honest and vulnerable they have built up a large following of what I would assume are relatively intelligent and open minded people. I love the diversity of interviewees and topics discussed. That being said, I was disappointed that in a frank conversation regarding trans rights, Dax continued to perpetuate the bigotry surrounding that topic instead of being curious, thoughtful and well researched in his conversation, like he usually is. I’m a fan of what they built here and I hate to see it fractured and was disappointed they didn’t use their monetarily successful platform to help normalize the life for so many who find themselves in pain and ostracized from many parts of society. They can do better and I hope they’ll make this right. I’m a firm believer in reflective second chances. Flightless Bird is a joy!

Great conversations
I’ve been listening off and on since 2018 and I thoroughly enjoy the conversation flow. True, it can be chaotic when there’s talk over someone’s unfinished thought BUT that’s how real conversations go. I appreciate the authentic flow these interviews have. I read the negative reviews from all of the people who want Dax to fit into their box and complain that Dax doesn’t agree enough with their views - ironically accusing him of being the very person your review of the podcast describes you to be. If you only listened to one interview because the guest was your “icon” or “idol” and didn’t like the nature of the conversation, oh well, you don’t have to. Move along and choose a new podcast, there’s plenty and your idol was probably going on this one to promote their own. Overall, I enjoy the way these interviews often are unique and different than other interviews of the same guest - because that’s how Dax intended it to be when this podcast launched - to interview people from his perspective and let us be the fly on the wall listening to the conversation.
LE creuset
If you are going to spend all that money on the pot .. It’s LE not LA
Inspiring
Dax inspires me to grow as a conversationalist. The questions he asks during interviews are so thoughtful. Even when an episode is a celebrity I don’t know, I find myself still deeply enjoying it because Dax is such a compelling conversationalist.
Love Dax & Monica!
I'm 49 and never really followed Dax but just after listening to one episode, I was hooked! I absolutely Love their honesty on all topics and their friendship truly shines through your device! Thank you for sharing your world with us!
Favorite since the beginning!
I wish there was a new episode everyday! I have been a listener since the beginning and still look forward to each every week. I love Dax, Monica and Wobby Wob’s dynamic. Armchair Anonymous is THE BEST.
A review whose time has come
I don't know what I was waiting for because I've listened to you for years. Apparently I was waiting for Jon Batiste to inspire this review. Near the beginning of the episode with Jon, he so elegantly and effortlessly complimented your podcast - creative, vision, makes space for a certain type of conversation, builds community, accessible, heart, organic. He said it all in a way that I could not put together myself. He is a class act. And you guys deserve the praise. ❤️
Long time lover of the pod… but
This is my favorite podcast and has been for so many years. I love the deep conversations amongst Dax, Monica and the guests. I have been introduced to so many people and topics that I otherwise wouldn’t have looked into. I am getting frustrated listening to Monica spew her political views, she is unable to even remotely try to understand someone who isn’t like her. At least Dax is willing to entertain other ideas. As someone who leans more conservative, I love shows like this because it widens my point of view. Monica needs to consider we probably have more in common than not and it’s not one team against the other, it’s all of us against problems. People like her are the reason there is such a divide.
So smart!!!!!
I am constantly looking for a new podcast to love.....I found it! I’m obsessed.....You have a new fan.... so far my favs are Jason Bateman (obvs), January Jones, Claire Danes, Will Ferrell (died laughing), Oliver and Kate (who doesn’t love them)... and of course I just love love love Jax and Monica!!!!!!! Both so well spoken and emotionally smart. I love being surprised at my own underestimation of an episode I thought might not interest me but then J
Armchair Anonymous
Best show ever!
Best Podcast Period
I’ve been a listener since day one. I tell ANYONE AND EVERYONE about this podcast. Dax’s vulnerability makes him relatable while his intellect is right up there with any of the “experts” he has on the show. Monica adds a nice feminine touch to a show that could get too bogged down by car talk! The guests are mostly fabulous and if they’re not, Dax will find a way to make their information interesting. I can’t believe some of the stuff I’ve found compelling. I also love some of their other shows like Flightless Bird and Synced. You will NOT regret listening.
Does Monica remember she’s a babysitter?
I am coming back to the podcast after a while and am loving Flightless with David, but so help me God…do something with Monica! She is truly more annoying than she has ever been and is constantly interrupting. I don’t know if I will stay but she is ruining the experience for me. As for JVN, he really used this show for sympathy and it it hasn’t been the first time. Look it up. I stand with Dax!
5 stars
I’m only here for Flightless Bird. I love David Farrier and the various topics he covers every week.
My favorite
I love this podcast. Dax is smart, and asks great questions. Even the uncomfortable ones that most are afraid to ask. I always enjoy his interviews.
Love this podcast
Dax and Monica do a fabulous job interviewing and engaging with experts and celebrities alike. I have so appreciated all the guests from different walks of life who I might not have heard from otherwise! Have found countless authors, shows, and experts through them. I have felt seen, cried, and laughed along the way. Also appreciate the AC umbrella and the variety of content they have come to offer! For all who choose to be blatantly rude & ugly in the reviews because of ONE episode, please find something else to consume your time. Everyone is in a different place in their journey of understanding, and using the right type of language to discuss tricky topics. Have some GRACE, as I’m sure you would want people to do for you. We are all imperfect and learning.

Yearbook
Excited to listen to Chad Sanders. He is a great addition to Armchair.
My all time favorite
I am a long time listener, and really love all of the shows armchair offers. I love hearing the celebrity interviews that shed a little light on their lives and personalities as opposed to solely talking about whatever project they are working on. I always learn something from the experts and the armchair Anonymous episodes always make me laugh out loud. I really show up for Dax, but I even listened to the egg freezing series and loved the vulnerability. As a mom who has suffered miscarriage and found a lot of support in talking about it and sharing, I know that there are a lot of people you helped simply by sharing that process and experience. Having listened for years, this is the first review I am leaving, which is really prompted by all the recent negative reviews. I tell everyone who will listen about the show and how much I love Dax. But that does not mean I agree with everything that comes out of his, Monica’s, or any guest’s mouth. I think all of the listeners and people behind their keyboards need to remember just how vulnerable it is to get on a microphone and put content out there, knowing listeners are going to analyze every single word. I think we need to remember to give people grace in general. We are never going to 100% agree with any other human and we can’t set unrealistic standards for another human, celebrity or not. Love this show and what they do!
Such an incredible gift
This podcast is real and raw and so very beautiful. Dax, Monica and Wobby Wob are some of my favorite people. Dax is so hilarious and relatable. Monica is the friend everyone needs in their corner. Rob keeps the wheels on the bus. If you’re a person that values soulful, honest conversations, this is for you. If you’re a troll with nothing nice to say, move along. This isn’t for you, you’re not ready for it yet.
