It doesn’t get any better than this!
Thank you for enriching my life. Love your episodes!
Is that the body of Billy Newwood?
Where did you guys park?? … man I’ve been a fan since! I Love Hit and Run too. Thanks for what you and Monica and Robby Rob do. (And the team) much love.
Split your shows please
I love Dax and Monica, but this show has too many different shows in one follow. I am not interested in ALL of these and am very interested is some. I would much prefer to be able to subscribe to flightless bird as a stand alone podcast same with Armchair. But I am not interested in Synced or any of these other mini shows. Start a podcast network or something and let me choose the content I want. I miss a lot of stuff I want to hear sifting thru all the stuff I don’t. BUT! Keep up the good work! Thank you all!
Love everybody so much
More Monica, Liz and Dax time please!!! Love all of your expertise, experience and interest, so many diverse viewpoints it’s wonderful 🥂And then have Wobby wob and David have some bro convos too please! they remind me of my guy friends, their bromance makes me giggle so much
Charan Ranganath
Loved the entire podcast, but the fact check had me uncontrollably laughing. The riff on Mikes coffee and Bobs paper towels was priceless. Monica’s acting skills shined while she played the straight guy. I hoped she was having as much fun doing it as I had listening to it. Thanks for the belly laughs!
My favorite
Armchair anonymous is by far my favorite podcast. I look forward to Fridays and make an effort to clear my schedule for an hour in the morning to sit in my hot tub and listen to the show with an incredible view of the Rocky Mountains. It’s the best. Thanks for your good company (and conversation starters!)
Awesome Podcast, but...
Dax is an excellent interviewer with engaging viewpoints. Monica is just background noise laughs and when she does get get in the mix it feels out of place and adds nothing to the conversation. Dax would better off solo because Monica is distracting more than anything. Overall a great podcast. You can tell Dax does his homework and is truly interested in each and every guest and their backstory. I love hearing new things about celebrities I would've never known.
Random shows clogging my listen now
Synced needs to go away to its own universe I couldn’t be less interested but because I follow Armchair my feed automatically gets that and it drives me nuts. Time to separate that and see if it will stand on its own.
Chris Pine episode
The 5 star rating is for the interview portion of this program. This interview with Chris Pine is one of the best that Dax Shepherd has ever done. He appropriately brings out his insecurities and shortcomings to direct the conversation in a meaningful manner. I am always grateful when Dax talks about his sobriety and and what he has learned along the way. It is a real active service to discuss this in such a public way. I know somewhere someone needs to hear his story and it will help them. I am grateful for anyone who discusses the things in life that have caused many people great shame to lose the shame that we feel for things that were not our fault it’s such a freeing experience. And to take accountability and express accountability for things we are responsible for is also justice freeing.I have always had issues with the fact, check portion of this podcast. I think it’s such an opportunity for Monica and Dax to look at issues that came up in the discussion and educate themselves about them as well as correct any mistakes. When Monica and Dax go into a sidebar discussion, the conversation often disintegrates into a foray of their own personal biases that exposes their limitations of understanding. This is where my eyes start to roll and though I should know better to just end my listening when that starts to happen, I continue with the program hoping for a redeeming conclusion to whatever point they’re trying to make. Most of this, I chalk up to the youth and inexperience in the matters of current everyday life. Most of the times Dax can breach the Hollywood bubble that they seem to inhabit. But Monica‘s consumerism seems to trump whatever values she may possess. Today, living as a middle-class American with my own home, and the ability to purchase whatever I need in ways of shelter food and clothing as well as pursue hobbies and enrichment, I have it better than so many others living on the planet. So when I hear Monica talk about fast fashion, and the millions of people who purchase it in such a dismissive way, it’s really repellent. When Monica expresses her complete surprise that Reese Witherspoon has a college education it just seems so naïve. What does that say about her thoughts about Reese Witherspoon? And why would she express it in that manner, it seems like a real dig at her. And this is where we come back to the title of the show, Armchair Expert. This episode is par for the course in terms of the fact check/social hour.
You can’t not love this podcast
How can you not be a fan of Dax and Monica. What an incredible duo who share a lot of opposite opinions, but are a great example of how well that can work together. Dax is the man-child I wish I could be best friends with and Monica is the authentic, girl next door you have a crush on but know it’s better to be best friends with for a lifetime of awesomeness.
Self work
The way Dax and Monica are able to be vulnerable, caring, funny, and entertaining is beyond. I came for the guests, and I’ve stayed since 2018 for Monica, Dax, and Wobby Wob. Cherry for life!
Love
Wild that so many people listen to and review this podcast but don’t like Dax or Monica 🤷🏼‍♀️ they’re great and it’s very funny. No notes!
Thank you
I absolutely adore you both. I look forward to your podcast every week. I ALWAYS end so smiling, laughing and learning something new. You are both so smart, lively and down to earth. Please keep doing what you are doing. You are both beautiful humans and we are so lucky to get a bit of you every week.
Nerd alert.
This dude is not a good actor and is completely out of touch with reality and common society. You’re all a bunch of dorks.
Valley girl
Monica thinking she doesn’t have a valley girl accent was hilarious. Has she heard herself say, “Yeeeeaaaahhhh?”
Love it but stop supporting better help.
Love the show and the guests but better help should not be supported.
Love love love
Love Dax! Love Monica! Love David and his flightless bird! This is a well rounded fun podcast, sometimes serious and always entertaining and informative. Love the dynamic between Dax and Monica.
Drake bell
I love Dax Shepherd. He’s a great conversationalist and id love to see him interact, relate, and chat with Drake Bell. Call him!
Christina Applegate
I’m halfway through the interview with Christina, who I absolutely love, and cringing at how MUCH she seems to despise Dax. She’s been interrupting his schtick at every turn, not letting him get away with a thing. Or make every story about himself. Can’t wait to listen to her MeSsy podcast now!!
Neurotically Addicted
So this is the oddest relationship in my life today…of course the interviews are top-notch; best show of its type. I never miss a show and they punctuate my week in important ways. But over time it’s the fact checks that have created an odd connection to 2 strangers I’ve never met but feel I know better than many IRL people I know. How can this be? I need help.
Day 1 listener…always excited for the next episode
The experts are great! The actors are fun. Monica and Dax have happy chemistry and know how to pull the best out of their guests. This is my #1 go-to podcast.
Feijoa and Flightless Bird
Two Oregon residents traveling in NZ on holiday when we heard this episode. Found a restaurant in Rotorua serving honey roasted feijoa atop a chicken salad and also as a poached dessert with mascarpone vanilla cream. We ate both and loved them! Thanks for the timely tip, David! Your home country is a true gem!
Good but for one voice
I can’t listen to this anymore because of Monica’s laugh and inane questions. ‘Do all men’s lives rotate in the axis of wanting to win in a fight?’ Love the guests, Dax is who he is, all admiration for a program of recovery, but would love less to no Monica.
I’m new to your podcast but I just love it!
I just love your podcast, you have such amazingly knowledgeable guests on your show. I’m a grandmother of four, ages ranging from 9-17. I hope and pray that I can learn a thing or two from your podcast to help my grandchildren with advice since I’m the one that they run to when they’re mom or dad piss them off or don’t understand them. It’s a very different kind of generation now from when I grew up. The world is harder and the people cruel. When I was growing up I delt with some similar situations but I wasn’t able to talk to my parents because in my family we just didn’t do that and instead I got high in order to deal with my pain. Iam grateful that my children were always able to come to me for help and because of that my children do the same with their children, now it doesn’t always go so well and when it doesn’t that’s when I try to step in and help. I’m grateful for your podcast. I also have to say Dex I think you are an amazingly talented actor/artist!
